It's For Scrapping and Sewing

The room that is. Turns out that it is a sewing room as well as a scrapbooking room. The proof is in the pictures!

Can you believe I've actually started a sewing project? I've been planning many and am so on it now! (Well, we will see about that huh?) I'll keep you in suspense as to what it is until I'm done - you can probably tell already anyway!

A Little Bit of Outside Play

This afternoon was so nice, not windy and just warm enough to let the kids play outside. I hung out with the kids all day today. Nichole had a Dr. appointment this morning so I watched Lilly & Preston while she did that (the peanut is a-ok, by the way).  Then we had Lilly stay so that when Riley came home he could play with 'just her' as requested yesterday. Later in the afternoon they were invited to bike ride out front with the neighbor girl. Kolbi & her friends joined soon after. Followed by Lexi, Nichole & Preston. It was a loud afternoon in the cul-de-sac. I'm sure most of the neighbors were wondering what was going on! Nichole was smart and grabbed my camera to catch some really great shots... here they are...

Preston has the best expression in this one

Riley is gettin' ready to ride *notice his bike WITHOUT training wheels in the background! He is officially a full on bike rider now!

Wow - did this really happen? Having fun together!!!

Albertson's Is SUPER!

O Yeah it's time for some more stock up deals. This weeks Albertson's ad is just too good. I got some great bargains and just had to share ;) If you have one, go do the deals! You should use the week before last's coupons to get the smallest out of pocket. (There's also tons of internet printable coupons out there to make the deals if you didn't get that paper.) Ok, so here is my breakdown... I did 7 transactions at 2 stores and got...
7 Pillsbury Crescent Rolls
3 Pillsbury Cinnamon Rolls (Riley says woo hoo)
15 Pillsbury Grands Biscuits
6 boxes of Fruit by the Foot
2 boxes of Nature Valley Granola Bars (I LOVE LOVE LOVE these)
4 boxes Scooby Doo Fruit Snacks
2 boxes Fruit Roll Ups
2 Brownie Mixes
2 Warm Delights
1 Cookie Mix
6 Progresso Soups
20 Cake Mixes (we totally use a ton of these)
Here's what I spent: $31.50 (for the groceries) and $6.73 (for tax) total out of pocket: $38.23
++PLUSS I have a $10 catalina towards my next Albertson's purchase++

I will go back this week for sure - more cake mixes (these are a deal without coupons) and more biscuits!!

Just A Little Rundown

Since I'm up, thought it would be a good time to update. Valentine's Day was interrupted by sickness at my house. I had somewhat grand plans of a nice, homemade dinner and was too stuffy and sneezy to make it! Instead we got pizza for the kids and Justin and I ran out for a quick, quiet dinner. BUT I regrouped and made my dinner on Sunday - it was just as yummy as it would have been on Saturday.
Bacon wrapped, rosemary chicken - french bread - cauliflower with cheese sauce & garlic mashed potatoes.

Then on Monday I had the guilt because it was a 4 day weekend for the kids and we hadn't done anything fun. I'm the only one who has been sick and they had to suffer. So I ran into work early and picked up Lexi on the way home. Riley & Lexi had a play day and made these little perler bead creations (I've figured out what they are called since my last few posts).

Kolbi and I watched The Secret Life of Bees while they played - good movie! Turned out to be a fun day.

Do You Know What A Skunk Bag Is?

As in...
"That guy's a skunk bag"
"bad guys that steal things are called skunk bags"

Yep, Riley has coined a new phrase - I have no idea where he heard this one from. Do they say scum bag on Sponge Bob? I don't think so but you never know.  We were watching a Monk marathon yesterday afternoon because I was being sicky and lazy when Riley pointed out to me that the guy who stole the bike was a skunk bag. I almost choked on my tongue and had to have him repeat it. That's when I got the second description. It was hilarious.

De-LiC-I-oUS!

We'll start with these, they turned out yuuuuummmmy! This is the Banana-Blueberry Muffins, they are already gone because they were sooo good.
wish my camera did better close ups :(

This is the from scratch Angel Food Cake, it was yummy too! I forgot to snap a pic when I first took it out but this one is better anyway because it's complete with strawberries & whipped cream!
No baking involved here, just my super cool iced tea machine! I concocted a cherry-pomegranate green tea. Refreshing! (this was the maiden voyage of my Christmas Tea Machine and I love, love, love it)

For the finale, here is some home-made pizza! I can't take the credit for these, they were made by Carol today while I was at work.  She makes some super yummy pizza and we all love when it's pizza night.

Who Doesn't LOVE Some Gossip?

Well, I know that I do. It's maybe a guilty pleasure? I'd much rather read about what the celebs are up to (complete with some snarky remarks) than balance my bank account or life for that matter. Anyway, I found a super fly new gossip blog and want to share.

Go on over and check it out, you won't be disappointed. It's short, sweet and full of snark, I loves it! The latest is a little info on who Anne Hathaway is dating now... I just had to know that :)

Turned Out The Odds Were Good

Remember the other day when I was trying to get inspired? Well, I totally completed a project. Ok, it was a small one but still something finished nonetheless. I ordered this super cute bird tag book kit off of Etsy and it's been sitting around for a bit now. Thanks, Emily Adams for putting this cute kit together (also for cute buttons I ordered for Kolbi).

I do need to add pics still but I'm not quite sure what I'll put in there. Maybe some girlfriend pics? Hmmm.

So now I'm getting my plan ready for tomorrow. It's Saturday, my day off and scrap night - woo hoo! :) I was flipping through the current issue of Everyday Food and saw some of the YUMMIEST recipes! I'm going to make something sweet for scrap night, I think. Actually, there are several things I'm planning on making tomorrow. I've already gone to Walmart to get the ingredients that I didn't have on hand. Ok, so here is what I'm cookin' up:
Banana-Blueberry Muffins (yum! and maybe a little healthy?)
Angel Food Cake (never made this from scratch before)
and
Chocolate Heart Cookies (gotta make something Justin likes)
So I will take some pics of my yummies and let you all know how they turn out :)

Kolbi's Rainbow Cake

So Kolbi saw a rainbow cake on the internet somewhere and decided she needed one. Here's the play by play...

Talking on the phone while making her cake?
she divided the batter and colored each section
she picked a star cake pan
this is where it ended up being kind of a tie dye cake instead of a rainbow cake
see... it looks tie dyed
all decorated and ready to eat
How cool did this turn out? The colors are so vibrant, I would of never guessed. Good job Kolbi!

More Photos From CHA

Definitely my favorite booth of the whole show was Graphic 45. How beautiful are these displays? I just could not get enough of this place, they packed so much inspiration into that booth it was amazing. Hopefully these pics do justice. I ordered two of the paper lines and hope they do well because I'd love to get everything they do in!

What Are The Odds

That I get something done today??? I mean something scrappy, of course. If we're talking other accomplishments then I'm doin' OK. I got a ton of items marked down for closeout at work this morning - good deals here - and my house is fairly clean. Friday I spent a large part of the afternoon cleaning and organizing my scrap area and now it is calling me. If I could just motivate my butt to get off the couch (and off the computer). Hmm... maybe I'll check out some scrappy sites and it will inspire me?
